Lu Peng, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fengqi Group, was officially elected as Vice President of the Federation and President of China Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, becoming the first Chinese mainland entrepreneur to hold the core leadership position of Vice President since the establishment of the chamber. The ASEAN Retail Franchise Federation (ARFF), established in 2008 and headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, is an authoritative industry organization focusing on ASEAN chain industry development and transnational business cooperation. It has long promoted regional business integration and SME internationalization, and is an important hub for China-ASEAN industry matching. About 60% of the current council are new faces, absorbing multiple overseas representatives, with significantly improved internationalization and diversification levels. The first council meeting has been held, officially entering a new stage of development.

据南洋商报报道，本届理事会历史性迎来中国籍副会长卢朋，为ARFF成立以来首位中国籍副会长。卢朋将主力负责在中国设立办事处，打造对接中国企业家的重要窗口，统筹中国市场资源、搭建中企入马商贸通道、联动东盟十国产业分会，成为链接中国与东盟商贸圈层的关键枢纽。联合会已将中国市场列为未来2—3年重点发展方向，目前办事处选址工作已初步落实。

According to Nanyang Siang Pau reports, this council historically welcomes Chinese Vice President Lu Peng, the first Chinese vice president since ARFFs establishment. Lu Peng will be mainly responsible for setting up an office in China, building an important window for connecting Chinese entrepreneurs, coordinating Chinese market resources, building trade channels for Chinese enterprises entering Malaysia, and linking industry branches of the ten ASEAN countries, becoming a key hub connecting China and ASEAN business circles. The federation has listed the Chinese market as a key development direction for the next 2-3 years, and the office site selection has been initially implemented.

ARFF总会长拿督罗珉錞在接受南洋商报专访时表示，新一届理事会肩负全新使命，将加强与各国领事馆联系，深化贸易往来、文化交流与民间友好合作，积极引入外资与国际资源，拓展马来西亚本地企业发展空间。他指出，随着更多中国企业进驻大马，本地中小企业能否做好竞争与合作准备成为关键；同时全球局势动荡、能源价格高企，未来3—6个月或对市场带来冲击，商会将着力协助会员企业"走出去"，拓展国际版图。

Dato Luo Minchun, President of ARFF, stated in an exclusive interview with Nanyang Siang Pau that the new council bears a brand-new mission. It will strengthen contacts with consulates of various countries, deepen trade exchanges, cultural exchanges, and non-governmental friendly cooperation, actively introduce foreign investment and international resources, and expand development space for Malaysian local enterprises. He pointed out that as more Chinese enterprises enter Malaysia, whether local SMEs can prepare for competition and cooperation becomes key; meanwhile, with global turmoil and high energy prices, the next 3-6 months may bring impact to the market. The chamber will focus on assisting member enterprises to "go global" and expand their international footprint.

按照联合会规划，2026年6月22日起将举办为期3天的就职典礼暨东盟商贸峰会，预计汇聚东盟10国及全球共12个国家的商界代表。卢朋将以ARFF副会长、中国粤港澳大湾区会长及丰麒集团董事局主席身份全程参会，参与东盟未来3—5年商贸发展规划研讨。

According to the federations plan, a 3-day inauguration ceremony and ASEAN Business Summit will be held starting June 22, 2026, expected to gather business representatives from 10 ASEAN countries and a total of 12 countries worldwide. Lu Peng will attend the entire event in his capacities as ARFF Vice President, President of China Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Fengqi Group, participating in discussions on ASEAN business development plans for the next 3-5 years.
